The Day After Christmas

It's Boxing Day, proof of the high degree of materialism in our society. In all the stores, crowds flock, violently fighting for parking spots, and tugging for goods on sale. All that Christmas care is completely gone, replaced with the true greedy emotions of society. I think how hundreds of people can trample on a person, just to purchase merchandise barely on sale. Just more food for though about society, and Christmas in general. Happy Holidays people!

Christmas: A Lesson in Life

Once again, it is the Christmas season, where people are kind, presents are given out, and turkeys are slaughtered in the masses. However Santa Claus doesn't seem to just influence young children, all over North America, adults are donating to charities, driving fundraisers and making new year's resolutions to improve their character. We all know, all this compassion and care ends in January, (especially the resolutions) and everybody goes back to the quiet, easily angered and self centered personality that is the norm. The entire Christmas season is a lie. According to the bible, Jesus Christ was not born on December 25th and Santa, a recurring myth taught to mislead children every year. If there has to be a special season where you are more compassionate, where you clear your conscience with good deeds and kindness, then you must really ask yourself, if you are really so kind and loving, why aren't you like this all year? However, there is also the opposite situation which occurs, Christmas, where the entire family gets off their online lives, and realize how they cannot stand being in such close proximity of each other, happily returning to the screens after the new year. I guess, what I'm trying to say is, don't let Christmas be the reason why you resolve to be a better person, and instead try and improve and be kind whenever you can. Have a great December readers.

Does thy seek thy meat from God?

Do Seek Their Meat From God

Like the night beasts lay still
hidden from oblivious prey
silent and still, waiting
searching for their meat from God

Like the day men pierce through the forest
Hunting, weapons raised
resolute and with purpose
Seeking out their meat from God

Both man and beast
Like day and night
Seek to win the world from others
But there are only 24 hours in a day

In a village among the trees
A baby child wails in hunger
His father out, his mother tending
No soothing can cure starvation

Hidden like it's builders a den
Holding a small pining cub
Alone, it's cries upon deaf ears
Hope cannot feed hunger

With haste, both parties must not delay
Else they wish their youth with death
In which both parties must compete
And fight for favor in God's will

But if and when the dawn arises
The youngsters weaken and tear
By no fault of theirs, but all for naught
In which one will not live the night
